I hope that the original Sunsilk Hydra tlc shampoos and conditioners are returned to the shelves. I have recently purchased the “new and improved” formulation and do not like the products. And the smell is not nearly as good as the original product. Please do not discontinue the original product.
What are you planning to do about your captivating curls? I have come to depend on it and am having trouble finding it any more.

I was just wondering if there is anywhere I can get the original leave in conditioner in the pink bottle. I loved the way it made my hair feel and the smell was fabulous. I bought what I thought was the same thing in a different bottle but do not like the smell at all so I have started using different hair products now. I had been using Sunsilk for at least a couple of years – the yellow shampoo/conditioner and the pink leave in conditioner. Please go back to the original formula and I will GLADLY switch back. I could smell that wonderful scent on my hair all day long, but I don’t enjoy smelling like suntan oil unless I am laying on the beach.

I agree with Tara and Ziggy. I finally found a reasonably priced hair sculpting gel that I loved and what do they do? Change it to make it “New and improved.” It is new but definitely not improved. I want the old “Captivating Curls” back.

YES, PLEASE bring back the original Sunsilk product formulas. I used the Captivating Curls line for years on my naturally curly hair and it worked WONDERS! The new formulas are crappy, not to mention costs twice as much!! I’m so disappointed. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!!

Sunsilk…PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go back to the old Sunsilk Hydra TLC in pink bottle. The new version is just not as good and does not smell good. I will not buy anymore of the new version. I have naturally curly hair that frizzes easily and the old version worked perfectly for my hair and for many others according to the articles I have read online I really feel as though the changes made in the products and the fragrances of the products has been a negative thing for the company. I agree with all the other comments, why did they take the original sunsilk products off the shelf?! I used the captivating curls line, and in my 25 years i have used other products that were just ok. when i found sunsilk my life changed, my naturally curly hair improved by 100% i am not kidding. PLEASE SUNSILK COMPANY BRING BACK THE OLD STUFF!!! PLEASE!!!!
In response to that last entry, Sunsilk Hydra TLC shampoos and conditioners seem to have been returned to the shelves (at least they have in Canada…but only in the large size).
Be careful to purchase the ones with the original pink cap on top instead of the bottles with the newer silver caps…I’m warning you because the stores are still selling the “newer formula” in the smaller sizes).
And the smell is just as amazing as you remember!
In response to K, I live in Maryland USA, and i have looked everywhere. No store carries the original products. I use to buy them from CVS drugstores. I believe the only store that carries the new stuff is walmart. But the new stuff is NOT the same as the original formulas. I hope they reconsider bringing back the original Sunsilk formulas.

I LOVE Sunsilk products. . .but I can no longer find any in stores. I have been to Wal-Mart, the Dollar General, Family Dollar, and even various grocery stores. Nobody has them! Where have the products gone?!

A small criticism, we have just purchased a bottle of “Sunsilk Shins and Strength” why is the magnifine glass required to read the direction for use not provided with the item?

As you may know, marketing is a very complex function, and many business factors are taken into consideration before discontinuing a product. Consumer sales are a major determining factor. When sales are insufficient to ensure that consumers receive high quality products at an affordable price, the product may be discontinued.

I believe there’s more to the story here. The minute they were featured as one of the affordable “miracle” products on Kelly & Regis, this product was impossible to find! Yes you can purchase it for $35.00 on Amazon….CRAZY – as it was no more than $4.00 at the drug store! This is just another money making opp for someone. I cringed the day I saw the feature, afraid this very thing would happen!
Does anyone know what it is in the product that smells so good. It’s in one of the higher end products my niece uses, and THAT is the key to the original…. I just can’t buy the high end item.

I just came here today to see what I can find out about my favorite products. Yes, it’s true that it costs $35.00 to buy it online. However, you get a pack of 6 bottles. That comes out to $5.84 per bottle plus shipping. It sucks that we have to pay so much more through no fault of our own, but it’s not THAT bad.
I myself have opted to look around for other products. Sunsilk has lost my business because 1)I don’t conduct financial business online, I’m paranoid; and 2)I’m obviously not important enough to them. If they make it harder for me to purchase their product, they obviously don’t think they need my business. If they choose to bring their products back to our shelves, I will probably start to purchase them again. But, until that day comes, I feel like Sunsilk has chosen to stick their noses up in the air at us here in the U.S.

Very disapponted unilever that sunsilk hair products have been removed from store shelves to sell online only for a higher price…here in portland, or sunsilk sold quickly, so therefore the comments I have read regarding the removal of sunsilk from stores due to poor sales must be a farce…this is a tragedy !!! Cant believe the prices on these products online! Crazy! Why in the world did they stop selling them in stores? That is just plain inconvenient and not cool. I loved the original product and the new name was pretty good too but now I have to order it online. That stinks- if the products are selling then why make it so difficult to find/buy them? There is no such thing as a good leave-in spray conditioner anymore! I used Thermasilk for years and then Sunsilk when its time came until I couldnt find it anymore. This comany is too unpredictable and has lost my business now.

I couldn’t find it anymore. I came online and Googled it, seems like they’ve discontinued making it in USA. They still sell it in other countries, but its not worth paying import taxes and super high shipping costs. I ended up switching to Mane N Tail shampoo\conditioner. I’ve also heard you can get decent deals on shampoo, soaps, lotions at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, or Ross’s if you have any of those around. I get huge bars of peppermint soap at TJ’s!
This is a prime example of what happens when companies radically change their formulas, pass on elite designer advertising costs to consumers and charge premium prices for smaller sized bottles. If you want to rapidly kill your product and its sales along with it, THATS exactly how you do it. I’m not surprised at all they’ve discontinued it here. Nobody even knew who Teddy Charles was so why would we want to pay for his advertisement on the bottle?!! I mean, really? Did you think that was going to fly for long? How naive Unilever has become. Move your product to a more gullible market that is poor and doesn’t speak English because that’s the only place you’re going to be selling it for a while.
I bought one bottle of the nasty stuff and flushed it down the toilet after 3 uses because it was so horrid. I promptly switched to Just Brunette by Potter and Moore on recommendation from a friend and haven’t looked back.
I don’t like mainstream drugstore shampoos. This is exactly what the companies do. Change their formula, pricing, etc. People these days fail to recognise when they have a good thing going they should LEAVE IT ALONE!! I was using the original older version of Sunsilk Hydra TLC in the pink bottle with pink cap until they changed it to the co-creations Teddy Charles version. Then I gave it away at work because it was pure sh*t, literally. I put it on the counter in the office with a sign that said “FREE, TAKE ME.” It was gone within an hour and I’ve never purchased Unilever products since.
I always thought Sunsilk smelled kind of strange, like it had some weird unidentifyable chemical in it. After they changed it to the new formula, it just smelled bland, still had the fakey scent to it. Unilever’s just making a cheap ineffective product and the sooner we realized that, the sooner they moved it to another country like Pakistan so they can rave about how “great” it is over there. USA is way more concerned with quality ingredients and animal cruelty issues than we used to be. Not all countries feel the same, so they should have a better market over there where they eat dogs and cats.

Ive always struggled to find the right shampoo for my hair, i did when you launched the perfect straight..However now i cant find this anywhere and see the new range you have, ive bought each of them and none work as well as the previous sunsilk straight..Im extremey desperate and frustrated as im unsure as to why you would change your previous range that already worked well.

I am so sorry and so very disappointed. I have pure and natural curly hair and your Sunsilk de frizz was a blessing to my hair. I loves YOUR product. What can we do to bring this back for sale. Ladies, if you’re dying to find available Sunsilk products in stores, go check your local Chinatown/Koreatown/Japantown/Little India/Filipino marketplace/Vietland, because Sunsilk products sell like millions in ethnic shops. They’ve been around Asia for decades and have been very popular there before the arrival of the North American versions. The Asian ones are pretty much the same, except with way better formula and even a ‘henna’ option if you want your hair to be dyed black while it’s getting shampooed/conditioned.
And if you ever get a chance to travel to Asia, particularly Southeast Asia, stock up on Sunsilk like crazy since it’s way cheaper to buy over there!
